As the Summer draws to a close (where did it go?!), and we are now creeping just past the half-way point of our RSE funded workshop grant, we have our sights and planning set firmly on the final 6 months of our emotions in museum work collaboration. This is an exciting time with our second RSE-funded workshop running in mid-November, which will focus on the emotions of collections management work. We also have several outputs emerging from the project ranging from writing to participating in events. An article based on our collaboration will be included in the next Social History Curators Group journal (which should be published within the next month here), while Anna is off to Amsterdam in October to participate in the Creative Health: Museums, History, Heritage and Wellbeing symposium at the School of Historical Studies, University of Amsterdam. We are also thrilled to have been asked to take part in an upcoming online Museums Association Members Together event on workforce wellbeing. These are fantastic opportunities to connect further with practitioners and scholars interested in the themes of care, emotions, and wellbeing from the perspectives of museum staff and work.
